Tatuaje Monster Mash Series Review: Jason

Tatuaje Monster Mash Series Review: Jason

Originally released as a 7 ½ x 52 Double Corona in October 2013, the Jason, released as the JV13, is the 6th Monster after Frank, Wolf, Drac, Face, and Mummy. As with the other releases, 666 dress boxes were released with 31 going to each member of the “Unlucky 13”. An additional 4500 plain boxes were also released making this the largest Monsters release. This cigar is one I regularly hear called out as a favorite of the series. I must say this is, in my opinion, the most intimidating and powerful looking cigar of the series and is certainly...

Warped Cigars La Hacienda First Growth Review

Warped Cigars La Hacienda First Growth Review

The days are starting to get shorter and the weather is getting cooler. I like it, I am ready for those brisk mornings and comfortably cool days. As it gets colder here in the Northeast, shorter cigars become more popular. This evening is a good example of why. I have had a busy day and was unable to review the cigar I had planned earlier today, and now that it is near dark at 6:30ish, I need to go with something a little shorter.  I recently picked up a single of the La Hacienda First Growth from Warped Cigars. Warped...

Tatuaje Monster Mash Review Series: Mummy

Tatuaje Monster Mash Review Series: Mummy

After Frank, Wolf, Drac, and Face this is the fifth review of the Tatuaje Monster Mash Series. Today I am smoking the Mummy. Originally released as a 7 ¾ x 47 in October 2012, the Mummy is based around the Tatuaje Black Label blend. This is the Monster I believe I have heard the least amount of talk about, to the point that I always forget it was a Monster blend. The wrapper, band, and overall appearance of the cigar seems unfitting for the series, as it gives me an impression of elegance. Then again, the whole concept of a...

Barn Work Sessions: Illusione Ultra OP No. 3

Barn Work Sessions: Illusione Ultra OP No. 3

This “Sessions” review will be highlighting a tasty and powerful little smoke - the Illusione Ultra OP No. 3. I had some cleaning up to do in the barn and with the cooler nights popping up here, I need to make the pigs a straw bed. Hence the title of “Barn Work Sessions”. This is a cigar I have had a couple times before, coincidentally I recall the other times were also while doing some stuff in the barn. This is the second “Sessions” review in a row (see the Patina Habano review here) that was a petit robusto vitola....

Tatuaje Monster Mash Review Series: Face

Tatuaje Monster Mash Review Series: Face

After Frank, Wolf, and Drac, this is the fourth review of the Tatuaje Monster Mash Series. For more information on the Monster Series, check out the Frank review. Originally released in 2010 as the third edition to the Monster series, The Face was an ode to Leatherface. Originally sized at 6 ⅜ x 56, the Face, in my opinion, was the most interesting looking Monster because of the “nipple head” (as I called, I don’t know the technical term), the larger ring gauge, and the lack of an actual band. In place of an actual band, the original Face had...
