Wrapper Wars: Padron Cigars Family Reserve No. 95

Wrapper Wars: Padron Cigars Family Reserve No. 95

Padron Cigars are one of the biggest names in the cigar industry. They have a storied history with a lot to unpack, so I won’t go into all of that here. I recommend visiting their website to learn about this iconic company. As with most Padron releases, they are named in honor of a special anniversary. The Family Reserve No. 95 honors the 95th anniversary of Jose Orlando Padron’s, the founder of Padron Cigars, birth. This release was probably one of the most intriguing releases to me, and one of the few I knew I would undoubtedly purchase. I mention...

Farm Work Sessions: A.C.E. Prime Cigars Pichardo Reserva Familiar Connecticut Toro

Farm Work Sessions: A.C.E. Prime Cigars Pichardo Reserva Familiar Connecticut Toro

Today I have some chicken coop cleaning to do first, then work on the tractor. We recently got six peeps because one of our hens was broody. We snuck the peep under her when she was sitting on some eggs, and she has been mother of year ever since. As for the tractor, I have been having some overheating problems, and just blew a hydraulic hose. So I need to clean the radiator and check the coolant levels, then pull the bad hydraulic hose.  For today’s work I grabbed a Pichardo Reserva Familiar Connecticut Toro. I have been looking forward...

Yard Work Sessions: Crowned Heads Mil Dias Marranitos Edicion Limitada 2022

Yard Work Sessions: Crowned Heads Mil Dias Marranitos Edicion Limitada 2022

We had been in a bit of a dry, hot spell here that pretty much stalled grass growth. We ended up having a recent storm roll through, followed by a sunny, warm day, and the grass took off. So I have some mowing to catch up on. I grabbed a Crowned Heads Mil Dias Marranitos EL 2022 to accompany me. I have smoked one of the regular production Mil Dias releases, and while I wasn’t displeased by it, I wasn’t intrigued enough to go back to the line. I actually passed on the EL 2021 even with it being in...

House Work Sessions: Favilli Tierra Volcan Corto

House Work Sessions: Favilli Tierra Volcan Corto

We have well water here on the farm and have noticed recently that it has seemed a bit harder than normal. It was a reminder that I needed to do some maintenance to our water sanitation system and schedule an appointment to have our softener serviced. Since our sediment filter, UV light, and reverse osmosis drinking water system is all in the garage, I figured I would smoke something while I worked. I grabbed something in my favorite size - the Favilli (formerly Mombacho) Tierra Volcan Corto. This little rothschild is a Nicaraguan puro coming out of Casa Favilli in...

Yard Work Sessions: All Saints Cigars St. Francis Robusto

Yard Work Sessions: All Saints Cigars St. Francis Robusto

For this week’s mowing session I grabbed a cigar from a company I have no experience with - All Saints Cigars. All Saints Cigars was founded in 2019 by long time cigar industry member Micky Pegg, and a couple friends. The St. Francis line is the second regular production line in the All Saints portfolio. It is also the cigar I first heard of that introduced me to All Saints Cigars. I do have a couple other All Saints to smoke for review, but I thought I would start with the one that piqued my interest in the brand.  Country...
